Jesus told Peter, "Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren."
That has always fascinated me. We know that Jesus could snap His fingers and Satan would be gone, never to bother Peter. But He didn't! He prayed for Peter's faith because He knew that Peter would be better equipped after, for the work that he was called to do.
I find it so comforting to know that Jesus ~always~ has my best interest at heart. Even if I don't understand the circumstances, I can know that, "all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose."
